Suspect in Transit Police shooting arrested in Burnaby

Police say they have arrested Daon Gordon Glasgow without incident at a home in Burnaby. Glasgow is suspected of shooting a transit police officer at the Scott Road SkyTrain station last week.

The manhunt is over – and it ended in Burnaby.

Police allege the suspect shot Const. Josh Harms on a transit platform during the busy commuter hours on Wednesday afternoon.

Police had released mugshots span 20 years and illustrate how Glasgow has altered his appearance many times.

There has been a heavy police presence in the Bridgeview neighbourhood where the shooting took place but RCMP.

Investigators were worried Glasgow might try leaving the province to evade police and they notified officers in other jurisdictions to keep a lookout.

They said Glasgow was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large with respect to an unrelated incident.

An RCMP command post was set up at the Scott Road SkyTrain station parking lot so people with information about what happened can speak directly with officers.

Investigators are still asking anyone with dash camera footage from the area around the time of the shooting to come forward and a tip line has also been established.

Public officials, including Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum and Premier John Horgan issued statements of support for Harms, who Metro Vancouver Transit Police say has been released from hospital.
