Thierry

Throw it back to the classics with Thierry's Romeo and Juliet cakes this year; Romeo cakes are like a traditional Black Forest cake, while Juliet is all about white chocolate and vanilla bean. And of course you can assemble gift boxes of all scopes and sizes, filled with gems from this incredible chocolatier.

Thomas Haas will have you falling in love with chocolate, thanks to their whimsical creations this year. They've got chocolate flower pots blooming with truffles, jewellery boxes made of chocolate, a high heel, cupid, and of course tons of gift box options for filling with their delectable sweets.

West Vancouver's Temper has chocolate hearts (strawberry and cream, milk chocolate with Bailey's and caramel and dark chocolate) and individual chocolates, available in boxes or by the piece. They also have a heart-shaped milk chocolate caramel cake in an individual size or large (for 6-8 people), along with a Chocolate Heart Showpiece, for a real stunner.

Faubourg

You'll find organic and fair-trade treats at East Van Roasters, the social enterprise arm of the PHS Community Services Soceity. They've got classic Valentine’s heart boxes, packed with truffles, chocolates, and confections, as well as a white chocolate bar with strawberry and Himalayan pink salt, heart-shaped chocolates, chocolate bars, and a handcrafted Buddha. PS, you can pick up a bag of coffee beans, too, if your sweetie also loves fresh-roasted fair trade coffee, too.

This Swiss chocolatier will have plenty of hearts beating with their Valentine's chocolates, as well as two desserts, available starting Feb. 9: Silk Road (featuring lychee mousse, rose water sponge, raspberry confit, and a pistachio crunch) and Garden of Love (featuring passion fruit curd, milk chocolate bavarois, chocolate crumble, and a dark chocolate shell).

Burnaby's Mon Paris has gorgeous heart-shaped cakes (perfect for two sweets lovers) in Dark Chocolate Raspberry and Black Forest, along with shoe, ladybug, or silhouette chocolate "statues," and of course gift boxes packed with their beautiful truffles and bonbons.

The Pie Hole has a lot of fun to slice up for V-Day, from their customizable "Sweetie" Apple Pie (your pick for the crust topper's saying), to pies like Triple Chocolate, Black Forest, "Eat Your Feelings," and Red Velvet. Plus they are offering 2-for-1 slices on Valentine's Day from 4 p.m. to close at both locations for pick up or eat in.

Celebrate the day of love with a French touch via Ladurée. The Parisian macaron shop has red roses at the centre of their selections for this year's Valentine's Day.
