This Vancouver event guides a discussion on the market for cannabis edibles

In the wake of a second wave of legalization of cannabis, Business In Vancouver will host a Cannabis 2.0 event this spring.

Businesses are emerging to capitalize on the markets for edibles, for infused beverages, for topicals and for vaping devices, among other products.

BIV has been at the forefront of economic coverage of the cannabis sector, and an expert panel will guide a discussion on new opportunities, challenges, and the road forward at the event.

One of the panelists, Peter Guo, is the B.C. leader for MNP's Cannabis Industry Services and Enterprise Risk Services. With industry experience in cannabis, biotech, pharma, technology, manufacturing, retail and government, Peter combines over 25 years’ expertise in finance, accounting, IT, governance, strategy and risk management.

Stewart Muglich, another panelist, is Associate Counsel of the firm and is the leader of the Corporate Finance + Securities, Mergers + Acquisitions and the Cannabis Practice Groups. Stewart has a broad range of experience in the corporate finance and securities areas, as well as, mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations and going private transactions across various business sectors including the energy, forestry, industrial, life sciences (including pharmaceuticals), mining and technology sectors.

The final panelist, Jamie Shaw, is the Director of Communications and Culture for Pasha Brands, a Partner of Groundwork Consulting, Director of the BC Independent Cannabis Association, and an Advisor to both NICHE Canada. She has previously served as Government Relations and Senior Policy Development for Indigenous Bloom, Government Relations Director for MMJ Canada, President of CAMCD, a Director of the B.C. Compassion Club, and co-founder of Canada’s first Women Grow Chapter.

Kirk LaPointe, Editor-in-Chief, Business in Vancouver and Vice-President, Editorial, Glacier Media, will moderate the discussion. Kirk has led Canadian broadcast, print and media organizations for more than three decades, holding the senior editorial roles at CTV News, Southam News and The Hamilton Spectator.
