Do you love mouthwatering, finely-crafted chocolates?
The 7th annual Chocolate Challenge takes place in Vancouver this May and promises to delight chocolate aficionados with expertly-crafted bonbons.
Each year, the event wows guests with its one-of-a-kind chocolate treats crafted by Vancouver's master chocolatiers and their top protegees. Contestants must pass their confections by the judging panel, which is made up of some of Vancouver's premiere chocolate masters.
This year's judges include Christophe Bonzon from Chez Christophe, Thierry Busset from Thierry, Thomas Haas from Thomas Haas, Steven Hodge from Temper Pastry, Greg Hook from Chocolate Arts, Danny Capadouca from Okanagan College, and Jeffry Kahle from the Fairmont Pacific Rim.
Along with a bevy of chocolatey-goodness, there'll also be a selection of delicious gourmet food stations and wine bars. Guests may also bid on a selection of delectable silent auction items and partake in a live auction. Raffle tickets will also be on offer for additional prizes.
Silent auction and raffle prizes include: Chef's Dinner at Joe Fortes valued at $2,000, $1,000 Shopping Spree at The Room at Hudson's Bay and much more.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Vancouver Firefighter Charities SNACKS FOR KIDS Program, which supplies a daily healthy snack to at-risk Vancouver students. The event's proceeds will also benefit Project Chef, a program that teaches inner-city kids to prepare healthy meals, as well as the Strathcona Backback Program, which works to fill the “hunger gap” on the weekend for kids in need.
The event takes place on May 2 from 6:30 to 9 pm at The Gourmet Warehouse. Tickets include wine and assorted food stations.
