Crafted Vancouver returns to the Lower Mainland to showcase the finest contemporary and traditional crafts from around the world during a month-long festival this May.
The festival brings local, national and international independent makers, showrooms, galleries, shops and luxury brands, craft and design schools, and craft member associations together that are making, exhibiting, supporting, or selling exceptional craft based work.
Furthermore, the organization brings together people who make, feature or sell fine craft and craft appreciators who want to experience and learn about craft in smaller settings and intimate encounters. It includes everything from tribal to traditional to cutting-edge creations and everything in between.
With over 70 events spread across 35 different locations in Metro Vancouver, festival-goers may create their own itinerary that includes: demonstrations, exhibitions, film nights, private walks and studio tours, workshops, artist talks & presentations and dining and tasting events.
The festival kicks off on Thursday, May 9 with Hola! Crafted Vancouver Festival Opening + Fine Craft Auction. The event runs from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m, and invites guests to enjoy a cocktail-style event with a Latin flair that features exceptional craft-based work for auction, international guest artisans, and Mexican-themed live entertainment and food.
