The countdown to North America’s flagship dragon boat festival is on, and this year’s festival is slated to be bigger and better than ever.

The Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival features teams from around the world flying in for the continent’s most competitive race, as well as a brand new line-up of free concerts showcasing top BC artists. The whole event takes place June 21 - 23, 2019 near False Creek.

The Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival will feature over 5,500 racers from across Canada, the United States, and overseas. While the Festival is a marquee event for athletes from around the world, this year’s programming has transformed the event into an all-out celebration of Vancouver’s creative talent.

In addition to nail-biting dragon boat  racing action, this year’s festival will feature an amped up array of live performances by K-OS, Yukon Blonde, Jill Barber and a dazzling array of local musicians on the 102.7 THE PEAK Main Stage presented by Creative BC. This expanded music element was made possible by thanks to Creative BC’s Amplify BC live music presentation program and will feature buzzworthy local artists like Little Destroyer, Tourist Company, and Schwey.

This year’s festival will also feature the Red Truck Patio, BC’s biggest outdoor patio!

Measuring three-hectares (7.4 acres), Red Truck Patio offers front row seats to all the competitive racing action on the False Creek waterfront and prime spots to catch live concerts all day on the festival’s Main Stage. A selection of craft beers from Red Truck’s award-winning collection will be served throughout the three-day festival. Along with cider and wine, the all-ages venue will also offer non-alcoholic beverages.

There truly is something to do for every age group. The Concord Community Stage presented by Creative BC at the new Concord Pacific Pop Up Park will feature circus acrobats, shows, and workshops so that you can run away with the circus (at least for a few minutes). On top of that,   Alongside food trucks, and artisan pop-up shops, you won’t want to miss a second of the racing, shows, and summer weather at the Festival.

A celebration of sport, arts, and culture, the 31st annual Concord Pacific Dragon Boat Festival will attract 100,000+ spectators who will line the waterfront for one of Vancouver’s annual summer kickoff parties. With free concerts, food trucks, and kid’s entertainment happening throughout the weekend, this is truly a celebration of community, culture and a little (healthy) competition.
