Myesports Ventures Ltd, owners and operators of Canada’s first esports arena, is stepping up their game with their first three-day gaming camp featuring popular title League of Legends.
The camp will take place from July 30 to Aug. 1 at the Richmond Gaming Stadium.
There will be team building and skill development, in-game strategy, and physical activity at the camp.
According to the Gaming Stadium website, the camp is led by Jordan ‘Leviathan’ Thwaites, Matthew ‘Fish’ Fisher and Matthew ‘Knc1’ Arnold.
Thwaites is the former coach of the 2014 League of Legends Championship Series (LCS) champions.
The former mentor said in a press release that “(he) can't wait to share the strategies (he) discovered from coaching in the LEC and boot camping in Korea.”
Fisher, who is a strength and conditioning coach, will focus on “things outside of the game such as physical fitness, mental health and nutrition,” during the camp.
Participants will also learn player development from Arnold, who has coached at the national level for another esports game called Counter Strike: Global Offensive.
The cost of the camp is $249 per person or $999 for a team of five, which includes lunch each day and all required equipment.
Camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
