Vancouver was a boom town late Saturday night as the 2019 Honda Celebration of Light wrapped up its three-night run with the fireworks finale from Team Croatia.

The theme was movies, and Croatia’s efforts were cinematic, indeed. Mirnovec Fireworks, who have been around since 1993, actually manufacture their own fireworks – and their name, “Mirnovec,” is a synonym for fireworks and special effect.

Well over 175,000 onlookers packed the prime vantage points of Sunset Beach, English Bay Beach, and Kits Beach to watch Team Croatia light up Vancouver’s night sky. With show-stopping movie tunes like “My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic and “Circle of Life” from The Lion King, spectators fell fast in love with their big, brilliant display.

So will Team Croatia take the title, or will it go to Team Canada, or first-timers Team India? We’ll find out soon!

We’ve rounded up a few photos from Saturday night, in case you missed out.
