Yoga, run, party, repeat.
That’s the mantra that will be on thousands of Vancouverites’ minds as they prepare to sweat it out and celebrate at Lululemon’s annual SeaWheeze Half Marathon and Sunset Festival this weekend.
Over 10,000 Lululemon clad runners are expected at the half marathon, which kicks off at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, at Hastings and Burrard streets.
The race is 21.1km of breathtaking scenery, salty ocean air, high fives and good vibes. The course winds along Vancouver’s waterfront, including Stanley Park, downtown and Kitsilano, where Lululemon began.
Now in its 8th year, the marathon offers Vancouverites a unique way to learn about Lululemon’s history, experience the product and celebrate the inspiration behind the brand.
If you aren’t into running, the day also offers large group yoga classes at Jack Poole Plaza and a chance to check out exclusive limited-edition gear at the SeaWheeze Showcase store.
After the race is over, the real fun will begin at the Sunset Festival at Brockton Fields in Stanley Park.
Concertgoers can flow into the night with some world-class yoga, led by Lululemon global yoga ambassador Baron Baptiste, from 5:30 p.m. to 6: 45 p.m, and dance the night away away with performances by DJ Kaskade and electronic music producer Big Wild.
There will also be food, drinks, an artisan market featuring local artists, a Lululemon store showcasing products, games and activities to look forward to.
The festival kicks off at 4:00 p.m. and finishes at 10:30 p.m.
The half marathon is sold out but the festival is open to the community.
