Metro Vancouver Gas prices are expected to climb before the Labour Day long-weekend so gas price analysts have suggested filling up before Friday.
According to Dan McTeague, Petroleum Analyst, gas prices went up two cents per litre on Thursday and will rise again by three cents per litre on Friday to 152.9 cents a litre.
The famous gas guru tweeted about the soaring costs on Aug. 28, advising drivers to fill up for the long weekend.

Following that tweet, McTeague tweeted on Aug. 29, noting that pricing would go up three cents per litre the following day. After that, he remarks that prices are likely to drop one cent on Sunday. He predicts that prices will remain fairly stable until Wednesday, Sept. 4.
McTeague adds, however, that gasbars shedding "their retail margins in the evenings and sometimes on the weekends" may change prices by four to eight cents per litre.

An Ipsos survey found that 52% of British Columbians said that rising costs of fuel is likely to impact their summer road trip plans – with 27% even considering changing their existing plans because of high prices at the pump.
