Vancouver police investigating suspicious death in the West End

VANCOUVER — Major crime detectives are investigating a suspicious death in Vancouver’s West End.

Sgt. Aaron Roed says in a statement that officers responded to an incident just after 8 p.m., Tuesday near Pendrell and Thurlow streets.

An unnamed Vancouver man suffered life-threatening injuries.

He died a short time later in hospital. His identity is not being released pending notification of next-of-kin, however the VPD indicate the deceased man was 29 years old.

The incident is believed to be isolated and Roed says there is no danger to the public.

No arrests have been made.
