There’s lots to look forward to at West Vancouver’s charming PumpkinFest


Step into a charming old-fashioned, community-style harvest day celebration this weekend at the 9th annual PumpkinFest.

More than 5,000 people are expected to come together for fall festivities, food and fun at the West Vancouver Community Centre on Sunday, Oct. 6, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The fun-filled day offers something for the whole family to enjoy from pumpkin picking to old-fashioned games to live local tunes and food vendors.

The adults can peruse the artisan market and the Home and Harvest competition showcasing local produce including jams, fruit, veggies and textiles.

While the kids will be occupied for hours with a chance to enjoy pony rides, a petting farm, pig walking and tractor rides on a miniature course. Plus, there will also be a kids adventure race and games, an interactive Lego Wonderland, face painting and a photo booth.

Guests can also enjoy free entry to the pool, skate, gymnastics and weight areas during limited times.

The day includes a variety of contests for guests to either take part in or view and judge.

  • Home and Harvest – Locals compete with home grown jams, fruit, veggies, textiles and baking
  • Pumpkin Carving contest
  • Scarecrow Scramble – Sponsored by Park Royal with 12.00pm kick off. Grab a friend, family – everything provided – 15 minutes to create a scarecrow masterpiece – prize for the best dressed!

Entry to the event is free, but it is a signature fundraiser of the West Vancouver Community Centre. All proceeds from the day go towards supporting and enhancing programs and equipment at the centre.
