Vancouver police are investigating the city’s eighth homicide of 2019 after a woman was discovered dead in her Strathcona apartment.

Maggie Nelson, 60, was found in her apartment on Oct. 16 by a maintenance worker in the building, which is located near Keefer Street and Gore Avenue.

The death appeared suspicious and today, VPD announced, investigators have ruled it a homicide.

No arrests have been made, however, police do not believe there is a risk to the general public.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact VPD’s major crime section at 604-717-2500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
