Here are the dining destinations you need to visit in Vancouver’s West End

Vancouver’s West End has always been a great destination for food, but recently, the vibrant downtown community’s collection of restaurants, pubs and diners has turned into something that the rest of us are frankly… a little jealous of.

Vancouver’s West End has always been a great destination for food, but recently, the vibrant downtown community’s collection of restaurants, pubs and diners has turned into something that the rest of us are frankly… a little jealous of.

Fortunately, food is meant to be shared! We’ve partnered with the West End’s new favourite spots to provide you with a list of where to eat, drink and be merry this season in Vancouver.

After an extensive renovation, this classic West End diner is back and better than ever. Part upscale neighbourhood diner, and part sassy brunch spot, Mary’s on Davie is a fabulous food and drink destination for locals and visitors alike. With hearty mains like steak and biscuits to vegetarian fare like their "almost vegan poutine" with coconut cheese, Mary’s offers a unique retro-meets-modern dining experience that’s full of colour, flavour and endless West End vibes. Oh, be sure to check out their dessert menu while you’re there!

With 25 craft beers on tap, 2 projectors, 14 screens, and the NFL Sunday Ticket, The Park Pub is English Bay’s go-to destination for catching the game- any game!  The Park Pub’s daily Happy Hour features $5 Domestic and $6 Craft Pints from 4 - 6 p.m., while their daily food specials include 39 cent wings on Mondays from 12 - 9 p.m. and $5 Burgers on Fridays from 5 - 7 p.m. They host live music every Friday, but we probably already had you bookmarking this one at “burger” and “beer”.

J&G Fried Chicken - 1706 Robson St

Fried chicken aficionados know… Taiwanese style fried chicken is where it’s at! The ever popular Taiwanese chain J&G Fried Chicken now operates two locations in Vancouver, including the Crystal Mall in Burnaby and their outpost on Robson St. in Downtown Vancouver. Founded in 1973, J&G has 45 years of chicken frying experience, which has resulted in some seriously delicious chicken dishes, including their world-famous Popcorn Chicken. The dish is marinated in dozens of exotic spices and seasonings and like all J&G Chicken dishes, only uses chicken breast that’s shipped in fresh daily. It’s crispy, it’s hot and it’s everything you want your fried chicken to be… plus a little something more.
