Last week, a powerful windstorm hit the South Coast of B.C. and left thousands of people without power in the Lower Mainland.

Now, the Metro Vancouver Weather forecast calls for bright sunshine nearly every day of the week with crisp, clear nights.

Starting on Monday, Oct. 28, Environment Canada calls for mainly sunny skies and a high of 11°C. However, the temperatures will fall quite low overnight, with the forecast calling for a brisk -1°C. Following this, Tuesday through Friday is expected to be bright and sunny with daily highs between 8°C and 10°C. Evening lows are expected to dip between 1°C and 4°C.

Saturday and Sunday are expected to see a mix of sun and cloud with daily highs of 11°C and evening lows around 5°C.

If you felt like fall came unseasonably early in the Lower Mainland, you aren’t alone.

Not only have there been many dreary, rainy days, but there have also been a number of downpours. Vancouverites witnessed an intense downpour around 4 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9 that caused flash flooding in parts of the city. As a matter of fact, Vancouver received over twice the average rainfall for September.
