Body discovered in Metro Vancouver park porta-potty

A visitor hoping to use a portable toilet at a Burnaby park made a grim discovery Thursday morning.

A visitor hoping to use a portable toilet at a Burnaby park made a grim discovery Thursday morning.

Inside, they found the body of a man about 50 years old, according to police.

Emergency services got the call at about 11:20 a.m.

The incident happened at Charles Rummel Park off Lozells Avenue.

The coroner was called in after the man was determined to be deceased.

Police are investigating.

“Based on the scene it appears to be non-suspicious,” read a statement from Burnaby RCMP.
