Around 12:15 p.m., a male driver in a pickup truck hit a German Shepherd that was in a residential driveway in the 1000-block of Chief Louis Way.

"The owner of the dog saw the suspect vehicle fully cross the centre line before hitting the dog at the top of his driveway," reads a statement from local police.

After hitting the dog, the vehicle headed west.

The driver is described as Caucasian, 45 to 50 years old, with no facial hair. He was also wearing a black hat and sunglasses.

The man was driving a newer, white Ford F150 crew cab with a black tonneau cover. It may also have black pinstriping down the side.

The puppy was identified as Koda by owner Morning-Star Peters in a Facebook post.
