Vancouver police release photo of suspect in attempted robbery

Vancouver police are looking for help identifying a suspect in an attempted robbery.

Just before 6 p.m. on Oct. 21, a man walked into the 888 Mini Market near Beach Avenue and Hornby Street and attempted to rob the store.

After assaulting the clerk, a 61-year-old Vancouver man, the suspect fled west on Beach Avenue.

The suspect is described as white with a slim build. He is believed to be in his mid-30s and was wearing a black baseball hat with a white logo, a black sweatshirt and black and grey plaid pajama pants.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect, or has any information about the incident, is asked to call investigators with the VPD’s major crime section at 604-717-2541 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
