Pinterest has revealed the most searched for holiday trends in Canada this year and one of the most popular is 'Christmas tree hair.'

Not only is the bold beauty look a highly-sought after trend this year, but searches for the merry 'do are up a whopping 100 per cent. What's more, searches for another festive finish, Christmas nail art designs, are up 130 per cent.

The Christmas tree-inspired theme doesn't stop at beauty, either - searches for ‘Christmas tree spinach dip breadsticks’ is up 130 per cent.

Canadians also show an increased interest in sustainability searches with ‘zero waste Christmas’ searches up 119 per cent. Similarly, searches for ‘sustainable gifts’ are up a jaw-dropping 445 per cent.

Searches for gifts with a personal touch are also popular, with searches for “personalized gifts’ up 90 per cent, while ‘DIY gifts’ are up 80 per cent.

Pinterest data reveals that Canadians aren't the only ones with 'Christmas fever.' The platform has seen an impressive 220 per cent increase globally over the past year.
