The B.C. Conservation Officer Service (COS) says that a  bear carcass was discovered on the gravel section of Bailey Street Saturday morning.

Its edible parts had been removed.

"Everything indicated the that bear was harvested somewhere else," Sea to Sky's Sgt. Simon Gravel told The Chief

It is legal bear hunting season.

The carcass has been removed from the location.

"It is a poor ethical choice from a hunter to dispose of a carcass in such proximity of trails and residential area," Gravel said.

He added he didn't find any evidence that could lead to the responsible party, but if anyone witnessed the dumping, they can provide the information to the RAPP line.
