Canada-wide recall issued for hair balm due to potential mold contamination

The recall notes that some of the recalled products may exhibit the presence of a common household mold, Penicillium concentricum, which may cause allergies or similar symptoms.

Health Canada is recalling a men's hair balm from the marketplace due to possible mold contamination. 

On Aug. 28, the department issued a recall of SeneGence for Men Grooming Hair Balm. The recall notes that some of the recalled products may exhibit the presence of a common household mold, Penicillium concentricum, which may cause allergies or similar symptoms.

Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the recalled product and contact the place of purchase regarding a refund.

This recall involves SeneGence for Men Grooming Hair Balm sold in a 52g/ 1.8 oz plastic container. The plastic container is blue with white lettering.

As of Aug. 21, the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. 

The company reported that 348 units of the affected product were sold in Canada. 

The affected products were sold from May 2020 to August 2020, and they were manufactured in the United States.
