Fraser Health is warning recent visitors to a New Westminster gurdwara, and private events in Langley and Burnaby, that they may have been exposed to COVID-19.
The public exposure was posted recently about Gurdwara Sahib Sukh Saga at 347 Wood St. in New Westminster. The date listed is April 24 from 9 to 11:30 a.m.
The exposure warning includes associated events at a private residence in Langley on April 22 from noon to 7 p.m. and in Burnaby on April 24 from 5:30 to 9 p.m., but Fraser Health did not list the addresses.
Such indoor public gatherings are prohibited by public health orders.
Meanwhile, more than 20 businesses have been shut down in the Fraser Health region recently due to coronavirus (COVID-19) transmission in the workplace – including two in Burnaby and one in New Westminster.
Under new guidelines established by public health officials earlier this month, health authorities and WorkSafeBC can close down a place of business if there has been multiple COVID-19 cases tied to the location. Those closures are posted online by each health authority.
In its first weeks of reporting, Fraser Health closed down dozens of businesses in the region, including restaurants, retail stores, and even the Maple Ridge outpost of Service BC.
Workplace closures due to COVID-19 cases are typically in place for 10 days.
In New Westminster, Odyssey International Exports at 109 Braid St. is listed by Fraser Health.
The latest Burnaby closures include Fitness 2000, located at 9304 Salish Court in Burnaby. Also in Burnaby is Reid’s Automotive Recycling on Trapp Avenue. Previously, both Burnaby Club 16 Trevor Linden Fitness locations were listed.
