A heavy snowfall warning remains in effect for much of B.C.'s Interior.

According to Drive BC, heavy snowfall is occurring and expected to continue through the day for many routes.

People are being advised to consider alternate plans if travelling in southwest B.C. via highways 1, 3, 5, 5A, and 97C, and Highway 1 east of Sicamous to Alberta.

Environment Canada has also issued a snowfall warning for the Okanagan, Shuswap and Kootenay areas.

Here are the latest updates:

UPDATE 3:25 p.m.

There are currently no more highway closures in B.C.'s Interior after the Trans-Canada Highway was reopened between Revelstoke and Golden Saturday afternoon.

After avalanche control work and "severe local weather conditions" closed the mountain pass Saturday afternoon, it's now open to traffic in both directions.

"Thank you to ParksCanada in (Glacier National Park) and Ministry Avalanche Teams for avalanche control efforts through the corridor keeping motorist safe," the BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure posted to Twitter.

Snow is forecast to continue to fall in the area through the night and a travel advisory remains in effect for the highway west of Revelstoke.

After frequent closures over the past couple days, the Coquihalla Highway is currently open, and the travel advisory for the notorious highway has been lifted.

A travel advisory remains in effect for Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton, where up to 15 additional centimetres is expected to fall.

UPDATE 1:32 p.m.

Highway 1 is closed between Golden and Revelstoke.

According to DriveBC, there is debris on roadway for more than 140 km between the two communities.

The road will be closed at least until 2:30 p.m.

No detour is available.

UPDATE 1:17 p.m.

There will be more delays for anyone travelling on Highway 1.

Traffic in both directions will be impacted by avalanche control work planned between Field and Visitor Centre Access Rd and BC/Alberta Border for 16.2 km.

The work is expected to continue until 11 p.m.

UPDATE 8:01 a.m.

A travel advisory in effect between Eagle Pass and Rogers Pass on Highway 1.

Significant accumulations of snow are expected and drivers should anticipate delays due to weather and possible closures for avalanche control throughout the corridor.

Meanwhile, Environment Canada is calling for another 5 to 20 cm of snow on the Coquihalla and the Okanagan Connector. The white stuff is expected to end later this afternoon and evening.

At this time, the Coquihalla is open in both directions. However, travel is not recommended unless absolutely necessary.
