Richmond RCMP is working to arrest a man for allegedly stealing from Richmond cars in May.

A man is facing charges in connection with a series of alleged vehicle thefts in Richmond around Mother's Day.

Joseph David Michael Landry has been charged with 14 offences, including theft, mischief and breaching court orders.

Four of the counts are related to allegations from July 2024.

Richmond RCMP received three reports of alleged theft from vehicles in the city centre area between May 7 and 11.

The incidents allegedly took place in the 8100-block of Anderson Road, near Granville Avenue and No. 3 Road, and the 5800-block of No. 3 Road, near Elmbridge Way and No. 3 Road.

RCMP determined that the same person may be associated with all three thefts, leading officers to identify Landry as the alleged suspect.

A warrant has been issued for Landry, and Richmond RCMP is working to arrest him.

Richmond RCMP say they appreciate the community's vigilance in sharing information and is reminding the public to direct all reports of crime to police to help with ongoing investigations, and not just through social media groups.

"Timely reporting and providing all evidence directly to police is essential as it allows our officers to gather the necessary evidence to properly identify the suspect and secure charges," said Cpl. Adriana O'Malley, Richmond RCMP media relations officer.

"In this case, a suspect has been formally charged and efforts to locate and arrest him are ongoing."

Anyone with credible information on Landry's whereabouts is asked to contact Richmond RCMP at 604- 278-1212 quoting file number 2025-14293, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at www.solvecrime.ca.
