It appears that a significant portion of the population are getting restless being cooped up inside all the time, and one BC resident has taken it upon himself to try and make some change.

Eric Wickham of Quesnel, B.C. created a petition over the weekend calling for boat launches and campsites to be reopened.

"Having access to our local lakes and waterways is important for outdoor activity and our mental well being," says Wickham on his petition web page.

"With all forestry sites and provincial parks closed, access to our waterways is very limited – this action has prevented citizens from being able to fish as a form of outdoor activity, as most access is by utilizing boat launches within those locations."

1,300 people had signed the petition within the first day of its creation, and the number continues to climb, reaching over 3,000 so far. To read Wickham's proposal and to sign the petition, you can find it here.
