It’s not often you see a man walking a bicycle in the early-morning hours with a chainsaw propped on each side of the handlebars.

But that’s just what Oceanside RCMP came across after being called to a break-and-enter at a manufacturing business on Springhill Road in Parksville, about 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The man also had a large bag filled with a reciprocating saw and other tools.

Oceanside RCMP said the business has a good surveillance system, which helped their efforts.

“It was live-monitored, so somebody actually called our dispatch and said there’s someone inside my business as we speak,” said Oceanside RCMP Cpl. Jesse Foreman.

Hudson David Klassen, 27, has been remanded in custody until Jan. 28.
