Woman grabbed from behind in Metro Vancouver park: RCMP

Surrey RCMP is asking for witnesses to a sexual assault that occurred in Bear Creek Bear. The incident took place on September 27, 2021.

The Surrey RCMP is asking for witnesses to a sexual assault that occurred in Bear Creek Park. 

On Sept. 27, just before 5 p.m., the Surrey RCMP was informed that a woman walking in Bear Creek Park was grabbed from behind by an unknown man, explains a news release. The woman was able to quickly escape and the suspect fled the area on foot.

The suspect is described as a 20- to 30-year-old man with a darker complexion, black curly hair past his ears, medium build, approximately 5’10", and was wearing a grey hoody with baggy pants.

Officers are working with the victim and consulting with a Forensic Sketch artist in order to forward the investigation, says Surrey RCMP Media Relations Officer Corporal Vanessa Munn.

Thankfully the victim was able to escape without any physical injuries, however, incidents like these can have a profound and long-lasting impact on victims.
