I went and got a haircut at Coup Salon earlier this week. The only business in Vancouver with an address in Shanghai Alley, Coup has been open since May and even though it's kinda tucked into a street you may never even knew existed it's kinda hard to miss if you're passing by on Pender. Here's a shot of Rosie, my new hairdresser, getting styled by Missy, one of the other two folks who work there...
The space is in a heritage building which was once a barber shop and the current buildout was constructed with recovered wood and recycled furniture. It's a cozy little spot just inside of Chinatown...
The Coup stylists are Rosie Zollinger, Missy Clarkson and Spencer Jensen and you can read all about them and the salon at CoupSalon.ca. I would post a photo of the fantastic haircut that Rosie gave me but I'm not going to cross the line of vanity by sharing a self portrait showing how great I look... so you'll just have to take my word for it or visit Coup and see for yourself.
