Are you looking for work in the food service industry? Are you looking for a new lunch or dinner place in South Burnaby?

Then Olivo Café is up your alley. There’s a notice that went up looking for staff and saying that Olivo Café will be opening in the Market Crossing shopping centre soon.

“We are ready to serve the community and we’re excited to build wonderful relationship with our customers,” reads the post. “We’re looking for someone who understands the importance of customer relations. Someone who truly cares for people and who have love for coffee and food! You can balance a casual environment with a strong work ethic - individually and as a team; being calm under pressure and handle high volume days. Multitasking, troubleshooting and organizational skills are assets.”

The pay for a barista and sandwich prep person is $16 an hour plus tips, while the cook position pays $16.50 to $19.50 plus tips.

Many retail businesses and restaurants have reported difficulty filling positions as many workers look for meaningful positions for better pay and working conditions.
