Vancouver students will take part in fun Hour of Code events

At Microsoft in downtown Vancouver on December 4, 80 students will experience an interactive and highly visual Hour of Code session.

We might scoff at those millennials and their love of technology, but the Generation Z kids who are school-age right now are making creating technology, and the science behind it, vital to their learning.

One core aspect of tech literacy is coding, which is one of the focal points of the annual Computer Science Education Week, which for 2017 takes place December 4 to 10. That's when cities across the globe participate in Hour of Code events, when students can take one-hour coding tutorials from industry experts.

At Microsoft in downtown Vancouver on December 4, 80 students will experience an interactive and highly visual Hour of Code session that will have them doing everything from coding on Minecraft to getting their hands on circuit boards and more.
