Canucks recruit bbno$ for 2025-26 schedule release

The Vancouver Canucks got a helping hand from a famous fan for an EA Sports-themed schedule release video.

For the release of their 2025-26 schedule, the Vancouver Canucks got a helping hand from a fan.

It just so happens that fan is platinum-selling musical artist bbno$.

It's become trendy for sports teams to get a little bit clever with how they release their upcoming schedules. It started with the NFL, with the Los Angeles Chargers getting particularly creative, but NHL teams have been getting in on the fun in recent years.

Last year, the Canucks went with a Netflix theme for their schedule release, dubbing it "Nuckflix," with some photoshopped movie posters and a truly upsetting amount of AI. 

This year, they went with a more local approach, recruiting bbno$ and giving it an EA Sports theme — appropriate, since bbno$ is arguably the most popular musical artist from Vancouver right now and EA Sports is based in Vancouver.

In the video, bbno$ is woken up by Jake DeBrusk and immediately jumps on NHL 25 to play the Canucks' new schedule in the EA Sports video game. 

The amount of Gen Z lingo thrown around is mildly cringey, but its made up for by the very authentic disdain bbno$ shows towards the Edmonton Oilers and Toronto Maple Leafs. Then the "Charizard" gag as bbno$ opens a game pack earned a mild chuckle. 

I admit, I also did a double-take at the "heavy flow" joke after the cameo from hockey content creator Coach Chippy. 

This isn't the first time bbno$ has hooked up with the Canucks. He's popped up in the crowd at Rogers Arena multiple times, performing the occasional bit with the in-arena hype team, and also performed his hit song "Lalala" on the ice in full hockey gear, including skates. 

The Canucks also released the full schedule in a more readable format after publishing the video.
