4,000 COVID-19 vaccinations up for grabs at Surrey pop-up clinics this week

Four new one-day pop-up clinics scheduled to take place across hard-hit Surrey this week

Surrey residents ages 18 and older can take advantage of a set of four one-day COVID-19 vaccination clinics being offered in the community this week.

One of the hardest-hit Lower Mainland communities in the COVID-19 pandemic will see more relief in the coming days, with the arrival of a new set of one-time vaccination clinics in Surrey.

Thanks to a new partnership between the Province, City of Surrey and Fraser Health, there will be four "pop-up" vaccination clinics offering a total 4,000 doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, available to residents 18 and older.

These pop-up clinics are being offered in addition to the ongoing appointment-based clinics that are operating in Surrey.

Clinic staff will confirm ID to ensure vaccine priority is given to people living in Surrey. Staff will be available to help people register and book appointments at other clinics throughout Surrey if needed.

To manage the waits, the one-day clinics will each be providing the first 1,000 people on-site with wristbands and same-day appointments.

Here are the new pop-up clinic details for this week in Surrey:

"Our immunization efforts in Surrey are expanding rapidly, and we're finding new ways to offer vaccines to people and protect communities against COVID-19," said Adrian Dix, Minister of Health in a media release. "We're making great progress, and we need to keep going. These new clinics will help us reach more people in Surrey and help them get immunized in a way that works for them."

Currently in British Columbia anyone 18 or older can obtain an appointment for vaccination. People must register and book through the provincial Get Vaccinated system, available at all times online or by phone 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at 1 833 838-2323, or in person at the nearest Service BC location.
