B.C. confirms 1,205 new cases of COVID-19, for total of 116,075

There are now 116,075 cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in B.C. after health officials announced 1,205 new cases Thursday.

There are now 116,075 cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in B.C. after health officials announced 1,205 new cases Thursday.

Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry reports that there have been 301 new cases of COVID-19 in the Vancouver Coastal Health region, 730 in the Fraser Health region, 38 in the Island Health region, 69 in the Interior Health region, 66 in the Northern Health Region and one is a new case of a person who resides outside of Canada.

There have been three new COVID-19 related deaths, for a total of 1,524 deaths in British Columbia.

Of the total COVID-19 cases, 409 individuals are hospitalized, 125 of whom are in intensive care. The remaining people with COVID-19 are recovering at home in self-isolation. 

1,235,863 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca-SII COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C.

B.C. has set a new record for active COVID-19 cases, with 10,052 active cases.
