We’ve heard of many sweet dogs patiently waiting to be adopted – but Harry may just take the cake (and the buttercream icing on it, too).
“He is a real people lover, he likes everyone,” confirms Erin Bain, animal caretaker at Senior Animals In Need Today Society in Mission. “Though it may take a bit of time for him to warm up, a quick walk or some tasty treats would likely get him involved in a hurry.”
Harry, a handsome caramel-and-white collie, was recently transferred to SAINTS from Chilliwack's CARE Centre. As he is now in his senior years, he would prefer a quieter retirement home where he can take leisurely strolls, snooze to his heart’s content and receive plenty of love and attention for the remainder of his days.
“He is a snuggly couch potato, great on a leash, nice manners, pretty social,” says Bain. “He can be picky with his canine friends in terms of having some resource-guarding tendencies, but does get along well with most dogs.”
While cats, no matter how friendly, are an absolute no-go for Harry, a home with gentle children would be fine for this love muffin. According to SAINTS staff, Harry thrives on human attention.
“He does take daily medication for arthritis and very early kidney disease, but he has lots of love to give,” says Bain. “We know his perfect home is out there somewhere.”
