Somewhere in the crowded midst of Briers Home and Gift, you can chance upon everything from a hand-held device that plays movie music to animal-shaped pacifiers. The store has become somewhat of a Santas workshop on 4th Avenue, but instead of Christmas gifts and elves, youll find books titled Everyone Poops and Stop Tweeting Stupid S*it.
Briers Home and Gift is a place to go to for a laugh, a place where your favourite item will always change and something, in some way, will always reminds you of that time.
I love it when people come in for the first time because they get excited and then I get excited, says manager Tamara Gronlund. Deemed a discovery store by a customer, Briers fits a massive collection of random items into a small space. I once saw an old lady in tears because she was laughing so hard, says Sophie Burgoyne, operations manager for the store.
Briers has also started selling furniture. Just across the street youll find the Briers Home and Furnishing store that specializes in small furniture for smaller spaces. Size matters, so no matter what size your space is, we can accommodate it, says Cherie Schuman, interior designer. She helps overwhelmed customers identify items that work for them at approachable prices.
Briers is a place where youll laugh until you cry and walk away with something you never knew existed.
