Central City Brewers and Distillers is opening Red Racer Restaurant on Beatty Street, with the grand opening on Friday, July 24. The new restaurant will feature slow-smoked classic barbecue dishes, as well as 40 local craft beers on tap, including 14 of Central City’s own Red Racer and limited release beers. The Birds and The Beets has opened in the old Sea Monstr Sushi spot in Gastown. The new counter-service café has a simple menu of breakfast and lunch items that feature local producers, as well as craft beers and cider. BirdsAndBeets.ca

 

The Acorn on Main Street is now open for weekend brunch. The popular vegetarian restaurant is offering up dishes like Southern-fried artichokes and waffles with bourbon maple syrup, fried-poached egg with smoked pepperade, corn bread and sautéed dandelion greens, as well as a new list of signature morning cocktails.
