Sleep is so simple, yet many struggle to get a good nights sleep. Without it, were not at our best.

So, how can you change your sleeping pattern? What time did you go to bed last night? Was it 9pm, 11pm or midnight?

I dont mind what time you went to bed, but your body does.

Sleep is a free luxury, yet so many of us deprive ourselves of that restorative, detoxifying, relaxing time under the covers, night after night. Instead, we go to bed late. So is it any wonder we do not feel great the next day?

Why not set a goal for this week to head to bed at 9:30pm and see what happens? You might be surprised by the added clarity and vitality you have.

Here are some tips to make your bedroom a sleeping sanctuary:

- Get rid of the TV. A bedroom is for sleep and sex, rest and relaxation, and a television is something that doesnt aid sleep.Instead of relaxing us, many TV shows and ads with flashing images only keep us awake.

- De-clutter your bedroom. Unpaid bills are not for the bedroom.Same goes for piles of unfinished work. Leave them elsewhere in your home.A good book, a glass of water, a photo of loved ones are the only bedroom adornments needed.

- Open a window, even in winter! Fresh air is vital, so why would we sleep in a sealed room for months of the year?Opening a window just enough to get some air circulation is a great way of sleeping better without resorting to a sleeping pill or counting sheep.

- Sleep is a habit and so if you are going to bed late it is a case of starting to break that habit by consciously going to bed earlier.

- used to go to bed late and now I go to bed much earlier. I feel more energized, have less wrinkles and I have more mental clarity. Sleep really works. You should try it sometime soon.
