The Chefs Convention Fabulous Country Classic (CCFCC), a fundraising golf tournament for the Canadian Culinary Foundation takes place at Furry Creek on June 16. The day, which sees each tee box turned into a miniature restaurant, costs $225 and includes a round of golf on the challenging course, a power cart, lunch, dinner, prizes and a variety of activities. The picturesque Hart House on Deer Lake launches its annual garden party series on June 22 (Wednesday) with wine samplings, fresh Nova Scotia lobster and festive Maritime music ($60). Medina Café is hosting a fundraising dinner to raise money for cancer research on June 7. The evening (6:30pm start) will include a six-course vegetarian tasting menu by chef de cuisine Jason Lee with bubbles, beer, and wine. Monies raised will benefit the Relay for Life (Canadian Cancer Society) and Ride to Conquer Cancer (BC Cancer Foundation). Tickets are $75, with only 25 seats available.
