At Tuesdays wine tasting at Terminal City Club, the Italian Chamber of Commerces Giacomo Trevisiol welcomed Emily Carr graduate Candace Mate who, with her Vancouver-born husband Ferenc, owns Mate Wines in Tuscany. (Ferencs book about their adventures is called A Vineyard in Tuscany.)
Naramata Benchs first wines of the season will be uncorked for a good cause at Wine for Waves. Chefs will prepare Ocean Wise delicacies to taste while sipping on some of BCs finest wines, with all proceeds going to the Aquariums sustainable fisheries program. To celebrate its 35th anniversary, as well as Vancouver's organic farmers, Le Gavroche is offering a special anniversary menu from now until the end of April.
The $99-per-couple menu includes a choice of salad or seared fois gras with a lychee reduction for an appetizer, smoked ling cod and caviar beurre blank or beef tenderloin with truffle jus for the entree and carmelized ambrosia apples and caramel ice cream for dessert. The special price also includes a bottle of house red or white wine.
