Alexandre Jolin, who started at Q4 Ristorante as a sous chef in 2010, has been proving his chops in the kitchen ever since. Now that the restaurants executive chef, Bradford Ellis, is the new executive chef at Q4 al Centro downtown, Jolin is replacing Ellis at the West Broadway location. Chef Jolin has read that French cooking celebrates the chef, while Italian elevates the ingredients. As an ingredient-centric French chef, at the helm in an Italian kitchen, he can relate, a press release says.
After stints in London and Europe, Bryant Mao is back in Vancouver as the new wine director for Hawksworth Restaurant, which won platinum for its wine program at last years Vancouver International Wine Festival. Its a dream come true for Mao, who is working towards becoming a Master Sommelier. He wants to add more producers from Mosel, Piedmont, Burgundy and Champagne, as well as BC.

The ceremony is March 8 at 7pm at VanDusen Gardens.
