We’re in the dead of summer now and the heat is melting all our faces. What better way to cool down with free Slurpees?
*Queue gasps and childlike shrieking*
7-Eleven Canada is celebrating its 45th birthday by giving away free Slurpees this Friday (July 11) between 11am – 7pm, or until stocks last. It’ll be the largest Slurpee giveaway in 7-Eleven history – 750 million of those refreshing, syrupy treats will be doled out all across the country.
All Vancouver locations are participating and will be giving away a total of 40,500 11-oz. cups of Slurpee. This equals about 13,160 litres of Slurpee and is more than enough to fill up a small backyard swimming pool, in case you’ve been wondering.
As part of the celebration, 7-Eleven is inviting fans to organize the most creative or original Slurpee run, then post a run photo on Slurpee Canada’s Facebook page.
The incentive? The chance to win more Slurpee, obviously. Although this gang of Winnipeggers are on pace to take the grand prize.
Speaking of Winnipeg, Manitobans have retained the title for the 15th consecutive year as the Slurpee Capital of the world. Yes, Manitoba consumes the highest average number of Slurpee cups sold per store per region than anywhere else on planet Earth. No word yet on where that province sits on the Type 2 Diabetes list, but we’re looking into it.
Seriously though, grape Slurpees are delicious.
