The challenge of finding gift ideas made by Vancouver designers is in the editing, because there are so many stunning works that any clothes horse would love to find under the tree. From jewelry to scarves to bags, local artisans are literally enhancing the fabric of life in Vancouver. Many are entrepreneurs are chasing a creative dream. Let’s support them this season (and all year long). Here are some of my picks that promise to brighten the face of your fashion feign this Christmas.
Erin Templeton, small tote in pumpkin ($259)
Erin Templeton is a longtimer in the Vancouver fashion scene. The line is known for using minimal hardware and sturdy construction. Available at Erin Templeton’s store, 511 Carrall. The Block, Plenty and Eugene Choo, also carry Erin Templeton designs.
Jackson Rowe scarves

Jackson Rowe is the love-child of Julia Hoover, a yoga-enthusiast-turned scarf designer. Let’s just put it this way, I bought one of her scarves (after I featured her in a recent column), and wore it everyday for a week and received so many compliments. Available at Hills of Kerrisdale, Semperviva Yoga (West 4th location), and YYoga locations.
The Sleep Shirt, sleeveless nightie in blue oxford pinstripe ($160)

The Sleep Shirt is a unisex nightwear company, based in Vancouver, that began with a simple nightshirt design. The darling line of nighties and sleep shirts will make the holiday nights a little cozier. The Sleep Shirt is available Rebecca Bree, The Cross, Much & Little, and Delish General Store.
Leah Alexandra, Wing Aqua Chalcedony Ear Climbers ($128)

I recently discovered this stunning Vancouver-based line of simple, elegant jewelry. The climbers are on trend this season and will definitely bring sparkle to her ears and her eyes. Find Leah Alexandra at The Cross, Hills Of Kerrisdale, Blue Ruby, and Beauty Bar.
Ken Diamond, Mona Moccasins in Oxblood ($260)
