Online Etsy mentorships

Etsy invites Canadians to kick-off the New Year with Etsy Resolution, an online mentorship program designed to inspire entrepreneurship and creative business. The free, four-week program kicks off Jan. 25. Advice, lessons, tips and support are provided direct from seasoned experts who know best: small-business owners and Canadian makers such as lingerie designer Mary Young, stationery designer Erin Leroux, skirt and bag designer Mo Handahu and vintage store owner Amy Honey, each successful in using Etsy to make their professional dreams come true. Led by these Etsy seller mentors, lessons released weekly – from brand development to product photography, pricing, marketing and more – offer accessible guidance to start a thriving online business. Fair trade argan oil

Fable Naturals recently introduced fair trade argan oil. The company’s founder Gwen Richards sourced argan in Morocco from fair trade, female-only cooperatives, where women are paid a fair wage, allowing them to support their families. The facial oil is ideal for all skin types, according to the company, and has a multitude of uses, including for the face, nails, body, and flyaway split ends. A 30mL glass bottle with dropper is $28; a 60mL glass bottle with dropper is $42. Fable Naturals’ products are all made by hand in Vancouver, using organic ingredients such as fair trade olive oil, cocoa butter, and cane sugar, and are distributed across the country.
