Fashion Week dates
The dates for Vancouver Fashion Week spring/summer are set – the event will run from March 14 to 20. Along with the shows, which feature local and international designers, the event includes the introduction of the Industry Originator Awards. The awards recognize veterans of the Vancouver fashion industry who have contributed to the advancement of the local market. The recipients include: stylist Tracey Pincott; retailers Ed des Roches and Katie O’Brien from Plum Clothing; Kwantlen teacher Sharon Greeno; journalist Susie Wall; and photographer Angela Fama.
Wedding shows
Wedding fair season is upon us. Here is a list of the upcoming events to help brides-to-be get ready for the big day:
Wedding Fair, Jan. 9 and 10 at the Westin Bayshore and Resort. One-day pass is $20 and two-day pass is $35. Event runs daily from 10am to 4pm. Visit VancouverWeddingShows.com for more information.
My Dream Wedding Show, Jan. 16, at the Pinnacle Vancouver Harbourfront Hotel. Tickets are $20 for the daylong event, which runs from 11 am to 5 pm.
Just Add Love Wedding Show, on Feb. 21 at Heritage Hall. Tickets are $12, two for $20.
Chill time for Nouvelle Nouvelle
Local boutique Nouvelle Nouvelle – which has locations in Mount Pleasant and Gastown – is closed this week “to chill/prep for the upcoming spring season,” but will re-open on Saturday, Jan. 9, from 11am to 6pm. You can still shop the boutique from its online store, though orders won’t be shipped until opening day.
