Fun fact: Kraft Dinner is the most popular grocery item in Canada.
Another fun, though totally obvious, fact: People will do ridiculous things for free, useless swag.
Now, the fine folks over at Kraft Dinner are fusing these two slivers of knowledge for the KD Fun Pop-Up Shop, which is billed as the only place in the world to purchase Kraft Dinner and KD-inspired items with “fun” instead of your hard-earned cash.
Starting tomorrow (July 23) at Granville Square, the pop-up shop offers passersby the chance to “purchase” KD-themed items by doing weird and crazy things on the spot – e.g. talking like a pirate, performing the Worm, singing a Celine Dion ballad, etc. This means no wallet necessary to take home your choice of KD t-shirts, noodle socks, aviators, cufflinks or “Funderpants” (though we, personally, are gunning for the KD bed sheets on offer).
The “noodle shop” will be open from July 23-25 from 7am – 7pm. And yes, of course, KD samples will be provided.
But wait! There’s more. Each day between July 23-31, Kraft will set up a roving KD Fun Kiosk outside of Vancouver transit stops, laundromats, grocery stores, and other venues of the mundane to inspire people – many of whom going through the motions of their dry and common lives – to have some fun by performing the acts listed above for a chance to win the free swag also listed above.
