As part of the launch of their global flagship Robson Street store on Thursday, lululemon athletica plans to host Vancouver's largest-ever street yoga party.
Renowned teachers Eoin and Insiya Finn will lead 500 yogis and fellow Vancouverites gathered on Robson Street between Hornby and Burrard for Coastal Om. The complimentary event is just part of the day-long celebrations going down at 970 Robson.
To add to the free fun, lululemon athletica has also commissioned hyper-limited edition graphic print tops that will only be available at the new location while supplies last.
Created by Vancouver-based artist Colin Moore, the exclusive line of breathable women's racerback tanks ($42) and men's "Five-Year Tees" ($54) pay homage to five of Vancouver’s diverse neighbourhoods and the cycling culture that links them all.
This includes:
• The Speedster (Vancouver)
"Faster than most cars and packed with enough water for a small family, this bike means business. #onyourleft!"
• The Shredder (North Shore)
"This bike is dirtier than you are. Designed to go down fast with plenty of shocks to soften the blow."
• The Cruiser (Kitsilano)
"A little slower than walking and a lot more comfortable, this bike will get you from work to yoga to wine-o-clock from Kitsilano to Kits Beach."
• The Commuter (West End)
"Why drive when you can ride? This bike has enough storage for safety equipment and non-perishables for the impending global-warming apocalypse. #1lesscar"
• and The Fixie (East Van)
"This bike is cooler than you are, so don't be seen without it. Complete the look with matching shoes, a full growler, and the best lock on the market."
The high-profile 4,400-sq.ft. location was formerly a Blenz coffee shop, and sits across the street from the new Victoria’s Secret.
The store opens at 10am on Aug. 21 and will include giveaways, live DJs spinning and more. Coastal Om will begin later that evening, shutting down that portion of Robson Street from 6-10pm with the yoga practice running from 7:30-9pm.
