Middle Sister opens her own boutique
Being stuck in the middle never looked so fashionable. Middle Sister Boutique, a locally owned neighbourhood clothing store with a global sensibility and a design-conscious aesthetic, recently opened at 2137 W. Fourth Ave., in Kits. The store, with a philosophy that reflects nomadic sensibilities, carries unique clothing and accessories by lines like LIE, Bourie Enzuvan, Ti:baeg, Bodybag by jude, Karine Sultan, Holly Yashi, and Fobe.
Luxury vintage pop up
McArthurGlen Vancouver has teamed up with Europe’s leading vintage collector, Angelo Caroli, to bring a vintage luxury pop-up boutique and exhibit to Vancouver featuring some of the world's most sought after fashions and accessories from luxury designers including Chanel, Hermes, Emilio Pucci, Versace, and Louis Vuitton. The A.N.G.E.L.O. pop-up boutique and Timeless Luxury exhibit, opening soon, will allow fashion enthusiasts to shop a one-of-a-kind vintage collection curated specifically for Vancouver.
Winter adventure marketplace
ROAM Winter Expo, Canada's newest consumer trade exhibition, is being held Oct. 17 and 18 at the Vancouver Convention Centre. ROAM will feature three unique marketplaces: Winter Adventure, Travel, and Fitness. Show attractions include destination travel guides, snow sport outfitters, health and fitness experts, free daily fitness classes, a craft beer tent, expert advice, new and used equipment sale, and a Burton Riglet kids zone.
Shoebox project benefits charity
Holt Renfrew recently stepped up to help women in need. On Oct. 1, the luxury Canadian retailer held a Charity Shoe Shopping event with 10 per cent of the proceeds going to The Shoebox Project for Shelters. As well, shoppers were asked to leave behind their shoeboxes, which the Holts team will fill with supplies, and donate them to a local shelter this holiday season.
Bard on the Beach costume sale
Just in time for Halloween, Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival is holding a costume sale, featuring clothes worn in various Shakespearean shows. The sale is being held on Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18, from noon to 5pm at the BMO Theatre Centre (162 West 1st). The entrance to the costume sale will be from the laneway behind the building, just south of West 1st off of Columbia. There will be signs directing visitors to the entrance (do not enter through the front door as it will be inaccessible due to construction). Take home a piece of Bard for your collection! All proceeds from the sale will benefit Bard on the Beach's Education Bursary Fund.
