Big news…chef Ned Bell, famous for his championing of sustainable seafood and healthy oceans, is leaving his executive chef position at The Four Seasons and Yew Seafood and Bar at the end of June to step into a new role at the Vancouver Aquarium as its Ocean Wise executive chef.

Longtail Kitchen is celebrating its three-year anniversary this Saturday, June 4 with an epic pop-up featuring chefs Angus An and Hamid Salimian for a 20-course pop-up dinner with cocktail pairings from mixology master David Wolowidnyk. Tickets (through Eventbrite) are $100 and include 10 dishes by each chef, five cocktails, tax and gratuity.

 

Prohibition at the Rosewood Hotel Georgia will be hosting free live jazz performances during the Vancouver International Jazz Festival June 24 to July 3, Wednesday through Saturday evenings from 9pm. In honour of the festival, a new cocktail, The Jazz Singer, will be served, featuring gin, Maraschino liqueur, lemon juice, fresh cherries and sparkling wine. Reservations recommended. The final dinner in Edible Canada’s Canadian Table Dinner Series will take place on June 6, this time with a Japanese-Canadian theme. Join chef Tomoki Yamasaki of Hapa Izakaya for a multi-course menu that also features a welcome cocktail, wine pairings from Okanagan Crush Pad and a welcome gift from Coconama Chocolate.
