Last spring, two local entrepreneurs – Melanie Hull and Julia Church – opened Neighbourhood Quality Goods in Mount Pleasant as a summer popup experiment. Today, the owners of Nettle’s Tale Swimwear and MH Jewelry announce they’re going tostay in the South Main neighbourhood at 4301 Main, where they carry Church’s swimwear line Nettle’s Tale, Hull’s jewelry line, along with other East Van brands such as Harlow Skin Co., Forest & Waves, and Lone Goat Soap.The store boasts a west coast feel with denim, knits, and leather, and popular names like Camp Brand Goods and artisanal gifts like Dani Press stationery. Neighbourhood Quality Goods will host Christmas markets every Friday for the five weeks leading up to Christmas. AG Hair has partnered with Eastwood Cycle to launch several pop-up blow dry bars this fall, titled Spin Hair We Care, with proceeds going directly to the Women Leading Change Foundation.
