Follow three local runners as they train for the 2013 BMO Vancouver Marathon & Half-Marathon.
Produced by Pacer Films, Running Vancouver isnt just about training, but also about the personal sacrifices and motivation required to complete an endurance race.
The cast includes Jillian who, after only having begun running last year, has already run over a dozen 5k, 10k and half marathon races. In the process, she has gone from hating running to loving it and yearning for her me time on the seawall. She now hopes to set a new personal best in the half-marathon.
Also featured is Sean, whose journey began when his daughter Shaelyn was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia, an aggressive blood cancer, at just 8 weeks old. Now, with Shaelyn 5 years old and healthy, Sean has joined the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canadas Team In Training to honour her battles with cancer as he trains for his first marathon.
And finally, the series will follow Karl, the most experienced runner, who has run over a dozen marathons, 50k ultra-marathons, and trail races. Hes back to run the BMO Vancouver Marathon for the fourth time in an attempt to shave just over 10-minutes off his personal best time to qualify for the Boston Marathon.
Pacer Films produces films that tell stories that inspire runners, cyclist and endurance athletes. Producer Jeff Pelletier is a Vancouver-based filmmaker and photographer. Having started running and cycling in 2008, he completed numerous marathons before recently moving up to ultra distance events.
